WHAT IS A PADDLE SPACER USED FOR?
While paddle blinds are considered temporary, paddle spacers install permanently allowing the flow of fluid. When a paddle blind is removed, a paddle spacer blind will seamlessly take the place of the previous blind. A paddle spacer is the open half ring of a spectacle or figure 8 blind. The finished product looks like a paddle with an opening through its center.
Paddle spacers are available in a wide range of sizes, typically from 1/2" up to 60" or more, depending on the application. Sizing should match your pipeline's flange dimensions and pressure rating.
The choice between Series A or Series B paddle blinds is based on the flange dimensions defined by ASME B16.47. Series A paddle blinds have a larger outside diameter and greater thickness. Series B paddle blinds have a smaller outside diameter and are thinner, making them lighter and more compact.
⚠️ Important: Series A and Series B are not interchangeable.
